Ibiza Sunset Run

So, I’ve been doing a lot of running recently…. (it goes with the territory when you live on a sunny, mountainous island ;)

I’ve also wanted to shoot a bit more sports lifestyle / fitness imagery lately, so I thought I’d combine the two and shoot some running / fitness shots just before sunset at one of my favourite running spots in Ibiza. I was approached to shoot by Reno, who was in Ibiza on holiday - so just before he flew back off to London, we headed off to the mountains around St Vincent in the North of the Island to shoot some frames.

It was one of those breathtakingly beautiful, warm Summer evenings with no wind, perfect for mountain running.

Here are the results:

Cycling Lifestyle

Since Cycling Week published one of my images on the cover of their past issue, I thought I’d share a few other images from the set.

I really love shooting sports lifestyle images in as natural a way as possible and will be doing a lot more shoots like this over the Summer in Ibiza. These images were commissioned by VeloVixen to show off their 2015 collection of Woman’s cycling kit.

All images were shot with lovely diffused natural light on a warm morning around Oxford in the UK.

Grey Power

For what was a very different job for me, I was commissioned by Elle Men’s Magazine (China) to shoot a few portrait and documentary shots of the legendary sailor, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston while he was in preparation for the Route du Rhum transatlantic race from St Malo to Guadeloupesolo that took place in November 2014.

Sir Robin’s story is incredible, he was the first man to perform a single-handed non-stop circumnavigation of the globe way back in 1969. Now at 75, to still be competing in this very physically demanding sport is just remarkable!

I spent an hour on Sir Robin’s (perfectly named) boat ‘Grey Power’ which was moored in Gosport harbour and shot a few documentary shots as he made final preparations for the big race.

I was thrilled to read that he’d not only completed the race, but came third in his category - an amazing achievement. Suffice to say, he was the oldest competitor in the race.

What a legend…
